The Red Lion has undergone much transformation from a traditional family style pub to what it is today. Overhauling its image, changing the interior and exterior, taking down the old pub style sign and replacing it with a modern bar style logo - it has attempted to bring in a younger, teenage crowd and was successful, although in my opinion, to the detriment of the pub.The staff here are quite casual and seem to hit it off with the younger crowd but leave the older drinkers slightly intolerant of their time-wasting and inattentiveness. The drinking crowd are noisy and occasionally bothersome so no kids allowed here. It is requently advertising special drinking nights with happy hours galore, this is definately a place only the young or very young at heart could feel at ease. The interiors have grown a little shabbier over the years and the toilets are grubby. Howvere entertainment value for the whole town of Bedlington can't be denied and kids who go here love it.
